Welcome to my Blog
About Me
My name is Shabi (Shabnam, meaning “morning dew” in Persian), and I’m a creative artist with a deep love for baking and cooking. Raised in an artistic and traditional Persian family, I developed a passion for baking, art, and flowers early on. My lifelong dream has always been to create a space where I could blend all these passions—art, creative baking, and floral design—into one beautiful expression.
Though my educational journey led me to the field of technology, with several years spent working in that domain, my heart was always in the kitchen, finding joy in baking cakes for every occasion that came my way.
I firmly believe that dreams are within reach if you have the courage to pursue them. So, I took a leap of faith and shifted my career back to what truly brings me joy. I started Fortune Cupcakes, a home-based business where I baked for family and friends, developed unique recipes, and refined my personal style through various courses. I hold a Designer Cakes Certificate from Bonnie Gordon College of Confectionary Arts and a Floral Design Diploma from International Career School Canada.
On Valentine’s Day 2017, which also happens to be my birthday, I opened the doors to my dream: Coconut Heaven Cake Shop and Café in Newmarket. It was a journey filled with both joy and challenges, as I learned and experienced new things every day. In the winter of 2019, I made the difficult decision to sell the shop, but I knew that Coconut Heaven would return in another form.

This book is a celebration of my journey, filled with the recipes and stories that made Coconut Heaven so special. Coconut Heaven Cake was one of my first signature recipes and also the most popular one. As a result, my shop and this blog is named after this recipe.
