My name is Shabi (Shabnam, in Persian means morning dew) and I am a creative artist who is in love with baking and cooking.  I was raised in an artistic and traditional Persian family, with a passion for baking, art and flowers. My life dream was to own a shop where I could combine all her passions; love of art, creative baking, and working with flowers. My educational path was in computers leading to several years of working within the technology field. Always with my hands looking for opportunities to bake cakes for every occasion that came along!

I truly believe your dreams are achievable.  So I took the leap changing my career to go back to my true passion and what brings me joy.  Fortune Cupcakes was my home business baking for family and friends.  Through this I developed recipes, took courses to hone my personal style, all moving closer to catching my dream.  I have a Designer Cakes Certificate from Bonnie Gordon College of Confectionary Arts and Floral Design Diploma from International Career School Canada.

On Valentine’s Day 2017, which happens to be my birthday, I opened the door of my heaven; Coconut Heaven Cake Shop and Cafe’; to the Newmarket’s community. I lived the best and most challenging days of my life, with learning, and experiencing new things every single day. In the winter of 2019 I had to make a hard decision by selling the shop, however I knew Coconut Heaven will come back in some other way.
